Ministries
Many have fallen between the cracks of life and programs and are outside, or disconnected, from the immediate reach of the various services throughout Kent County.
At LifeQuest, our ministries are designed to bridge that gap—meeting people where they are, offering practical support, and walking with them toward lasting transformation.
Whether through mentorship, workforce development, spiritual guidance, or community engagement, each ministry is rooted in our belief that every person deserves a second chance, a supportive community, and a renewed relationship with God.
Night Quest
For the past 12 years, LifeQuest has reached out every Monday night to one of the most overlooked yet critical groups in West Michigan: young men. Through Night Quest, a competitive 5-on-5 basketball league held in two locations, we use the game as a bridge to ministry. During halftime, players step into a brief but powerful worship experience, bringing faith to a group largely absent from traditional Sunday services.
HOPE Initiative
The HOPE Initiative is LifeQuest’s response to the temporary roadblocks that prevent young men from achieving economic stability. This 40-hour workforce development program serves up to 100 young men (ages 16–25) from Grand Rapids’ urban core, helping them move from hopelessness to purpose. Through daily devotions, guided reading, and hands-on workshops, participants confront both perceived and real barriers to employment while developing the mindset and skills of faith-driven, performance-ready men. Referrals come from probation officers, pastors, and peers in our Saving Our Sons program. Graduates receive a certificate and ongoing support—all of which are taught on-site at the LifeQuest Urban Outreach Center.
Brother 2 Brother
Each week, approximately 100 men gather on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the LifeQuest Urban Outreach Center for life-changing meditations delivered by a team of some of the most dynamic Pastors in West Michigan.
Our setting comprises men of diverse ethnic backgrounds, denominations, and socio-economic backgrounds. For the past five years, Brother2Brother has celebrated our fellowship by hosting our annual men’s conference. The Michigan Men’s Weekend, in Lake City, Michigan (Timber Wolf Lodge). Annually, this life-changing weekend offers men seeking a higher yet more profound, more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, where all the walls of brokenness, despair, and low self-esteem are torn down.
